The Student Ship's Log
To teach this curriculum, each of your students will need a printed copy of a Ship's Log which you can download for free here.
The Ships Log covers all 23 lessons in the unit and is 64 pages long. You can print up as much or as little as you plan on using.
If you are unable to schedule time for all 23 of the lessons, we suggest you start with the first five lessons, printing up to The Eye of Empathy (ending on p. 16.)
Printing Tips:
The Ship's Log is designed to be printed double-sided. As of Aug. 2026, we found that if you use a private service like Fed Ex, and order 15 copies of the entire 23 lessons, skip the plastic covers, choose 24 lb paper, print in black and white, choose size 8.5x11, and opt for a coil binding, the unit cost is $18 ea. Choosing staples instead of a coil binding brings it down to $14 ea. Printing more than 15 copies brings the unit price down further as does printing up fewer than all 23 lessons.
