In the summer of 2025, Oregon State University sent out a press release announcing the publication of research on the effectiveness of Peace Literacy curriculum, and providing highlights of the key findings. Led by Dr. Sharyn Clough and her colleagues at Oregon State University, pre- and post-test results showed positive results: After Peace Literacy instruction, "many students began to generate more empathetic and complex explanations about aggression—their own, but especially others." Clough reports that one of the strengths of the Peace Literacy curriculum is that "by positioning aggression as a response to distress, students learn why aggression arises and how to address it."
